Big Break: New Film, 'Break,' Gave Many their First Real Taste

Filmmaking requires a team before and after the cameras roll. This is the story of a soon to be released film called “Break” that was produced by Richard and Lucie Amberg.

Richard Amberg, coordinator of the screenwriting program at Missouri State University; Lucie Amberg, strategic communications specialist for the College of Arts and Letters at MSU; and Dr. Kurt Gerard Heinlein, professor and coordinator of the acting program at MSU, discuss "Break” and how it came to be.

The script began as a piece that Rich had written and sold for other projects. The projects never came to fruition for one reason or another – it’s part of the business, he says. When they decided to try this proof of concept, they adapted the script, and this short film was born.

The film, “Break” is in post-production. They plan to release it in time for distribution in the 2018-19 film festival season.
