BransonTracks

Officials hope a former Chicago Ferris wheel will now serve as a symbol for the city of Branson.

The attraction is now open at the Track Family Fun Park. The 150 foot tall Ferris wheel was located at Chicago’s Navy Pier

“Really the Track Family Fun Park owners, Craig Wescott and others, saw this as a great opportunity for Branson,” president and CEO of Branson Lakes Chamber of Commerce, Jeff Seifried, states.

The Ferris wheel has 40 gondolas which can hold 240 passengers at a time and has 16,000 LED lights. The ride welcomed nearly 17 million people while in Chicago from 1995 to 2015.

About 200 guests and a few celebrities attended the Branson grand opening last week.

“It’s been overwhelming how much support and excitement surrounded this announcement,” Seifried says.

According to Seifried, the hope for the new Ferris wheel is that is stands as symbol for Branson and is a reminder that amazing attractions can flourish in Branson as well as other places.

“As businesses continue to invest in Branson, I think it’s certainly a symbol of the amazing growth in our market,” Seifried adds.

Seifried says the memories of the Ferris wheel while in Chicago and the new memories that will be made in Branson will hold great significance to the community.
