A huge book sale is planned for this week in Springfield.  The Friends of the Library’s Fall Book Sale kicks off tonight (10/19) with a members’ night at Remington’s, 1655 W. Republic Rd.  The sale opens to the public tomorrow.

"It's a great opportunity to get some books for the winter, for reading, at a very inexpensive price," he said.

Jim Moore is president of Friends of the Library.

"We have five tractor-trailer loads of books for sale.  You name the category we probably have it from cookbooks to history to personal health, you know, you name it," he said.

There are always lots of children's books, too.

There will be two sections at the sale:  Better Books, which are $2 and up, and General Books, which are $1 or less.

Proceeds benefit the Springfield-Greene County Library and the Brentwood Library renovations.

Hours for the sale are 10 am to 8 pm tomorrow through Saturday. Sunday’s hours are 1 to 5, and that’s Bag Day—get a paper bag full of “better” books for $5 and a bag full of “general” books for $1.

Take cash or checks--cards will not be accepted.
