  • Justin Rothshank, a ceramic artist from Goshen, IN, will demonstrate wheel throwing and ceramic decal layering techniques today (2/4) beginning at 9 am in Ellis 200 on the Missouri State campus. He’ll present a slide lecture and artist talk at 3 today in Ellis 226. The public is invited.
  • The Springfield Conservation Nature Center will host an Owl Prowl tonight (2/4) at 7. Docents from Dickerson Park Zoo will give you an up close look at owls inside the Nature Center, and then you’ll head outdoors to try to call wild owls. To register, 888-4237.

  • A soup dinner to raise money for the Christian County Homeless Alliance will be held tonight (2/4) from 5 to 7 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 1796 N. Highway NN in Ozark. The cost is $5 per person, and children under five get in free.
  • The presentation “Who is Afraid of World Government” will start this afternoon (2/4) at 3 in MSU’s Meyer Library. Dr. William Scheuerman, a professor of political science at Indiana University, will talk about the possibility and desirability of world government.
  • Dr. Ronald Greeley, Regents professor and director of the Planetary Geology Group at Arizona University will present “Give and Take: the Story of Martian Wind, Sand and Dust” tonight (2/4) at 5:30 in Temple Hall, room 2 on the MSU campus.
