With Tax Day approaching, Drury University will be lending a helping hand to those in need of a little assistance. KSMU’s Justin Lux has the details.
Most Americans do not typically look forward to April 15th, but thanks to those in Drury’s Breech School of Business, the day will be made a bit easier.
Students will be providing free tax preparation through IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance sites. The service is open to all members of the public and is aimed at helping low-income and senior taxpayers.
The tax assistance sites will be located at the Breech School of Business, as well as the Deliverance Temple on 2101 W. Chestnut Expressway and Willard South Elementary on 4151 West Division Street.
The service is walk-in only and visitors will be assisted on a first-come, first served basis. The university asks that all patrons arrive at least one hour before closing time to ensure that the returns will be completed before the site’s closing.
