Republic Schools Move To Virtual Learning After A Large Number of Staff Contracts COVID-19

Republic Schools

The Republic School District is stopping in-person learning until at least December 3rd.

Since November 1st, 35 Republic School employees have tested positive for COVID-19—19 of those in the last three days, according to the district on Wednesday.

Students will move to virtual learning beginning Friday, November 20.

An announcement on the Republic Schools website states, “The district implemented the RepMO Return to Learn plan for the 2020-21 school year. Essentially, this is a three phase plan. We have been able to complete nearly 13 weeks in phase 1 with the large majority of our students participating in seated instruction. We feel strongly that students learn best while they are at school, in-person with their teacher(s) and classmates. However, COVID19 has created challenges and obstacles that are making this difficult to sustain.”
