Parking In EV Charging Station Areas In Branson If Your Car Isn't Electric Could Result In A Ticket

City of Branson

Branson’s Board of Aldermen has passed an ordinance they say encourages the use of electric vehicles.

The ordinance prohibits anyone from parking a non-electric vehicle in an area designated for EV charging.  It allows law enforcement to ticket anyone parked in EV charging stations who aren’t charging a vehicle.  It can be enforced on private property if the owner of the property has requested enforcement by the city.  Fines will range from $25 to $150.

This ordinance originated from a submission through Branson’s “Feedback & Questions” section on its website, according to city officials. An investigation by the city discovered that this act is a common problem nationwide.

They say the 27 EV charging stations in the Branson Tri-Lakes area are used by both travelers and residents, and the city is often thanked by travelers for being forward-thinking enough to have them in town.
