CBCO Issues Emergency Appeal For All Blood Types

CBCO

The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks needs blood donors.  According to the CBCO, blood reserves are “alarmingly low, with less than a one-day supply available.”  It’s issued an emergency appeal for all blood types.

The center’s director, Anthony Roberts called the situation "dire" in a news release.  According to Roberts, summer transfusion numbers are the highest they’ve seen in years, and donation rates are down.

Those who have received a COVID-19 vaccine may donate blood with no waiting period.  Donors must be at least 16, weight at least 110 pounds and feel well and healthy at the time of the donation.

Donations can be made at four CBCO donor centers in Springfield and Joplin, Missouri and in Springdale and Bentonville, Arkansas.
