New Associate Circuit Judge for 31st Judicial Circuit Named

City of Springfield

The founding and presiding judge of the Springfield Homeless Court has been appointed associate circuit judge for the 31st Judicial Circuit by Governor Jay Nixon.

Becky Borthwick was chosen for the position, which covers Greene County.

She currently serves as a full-time judge for the Springfield Municipal Court, and prior to taking that position three years ago, she was a managing partner in the Springfield law firm of Franke Schultz & Mullen.

Governor Nixon says, “from her work in private and public practice, as well as the municipal judiciary, Judge Borthwick brings valuable experience to the state court bench.”

She was one of three applicants submitted to the Governor for consideration by the 31st Circuit Judicial Commission under the Missouri Nonpartisan Court Plan.
