Voters in Springfield and Greene County on Novenber 2nd elected two new members to the Greene County Commission. Mike Smith has this report:
Republicans Harold Bengsch (district 1) and Roseann Bentley (district 2) easily defeated their opponents in Tuesday's election.
Bengsch, the former Director of the Springfield/Greene County Department of Health, tells KSMU News that his goal is simply to be a good and effective Commissioner who can work across party lines. He says law enforcement issues will be one of his priorities.
Former State Senator Roseann Bentley agrees that like Bengsch, she recieved votes from individuals who crossed party lines, and also like Bengsch, will work with Democrats to get things done for Greene county.
Democrat Dave Coonrod, Greene County's Presiding Commissioner, says he looks forward to working with Bentley and Bengsch, and to work more closely with the City of Springfield to deal the issues facing Greene County including a law enforcement funding shortfall.
