P-SNAP Benefits In Missouri Are Now In Effect Through June

Pandemic Food Stamp/Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or P-SNAP benefits will continue through the month of June in Missouri.

The United States Department of Agriculture has approved a request for the extension, according to the Missouri Department of Social Services.

P-SNAP allows recipients to receive the maximum Food Stamp/SNAP benefit amount for their household size during a state of emergency.  The USDA also approved Missouri’s request to extend the suspension of Food Stamp interviews through the month of June, according to MO DSS.

Jennifer Tidball, acting director of the department said in a news release that the extension will help Missouri’s low-income households remain resilient.  But she said, as Missouri recovers and the state of emergency declaration ends, it’s important for Missourians “to be aware and be prepared for their SNAP benefits to go back to the normal amount the household is eligible to receive."
