MSU Lady Bears Prepare For the MVC Tournament

The MSU Lady Bears are the Missouri Valley Conference regular season champions.  They claimed that title Thursday night with an 85-70 victory over Valparaiso at JQH Arena.

They’re the number one seed going into next week’s MVC Tournament.  The Lady Bears’ last regular season game will be at home Saturday afternoon at 2 against Loyola.

The win last night tied the school record for regular season victories and gave head coach Amaka Agugua-Hamilton the record for most victories by a first-year MVC coach.  The Lady Bears are at 25 and 4 for the season.

The women’s MVC Tournament starts at noon next Friday against the winner of the March 12 game between No. 8 Loyola and ninth-seeded Indiana State.
