Branson Man Arrested, Accused of Impersonating Officer

A man accused of recently impersonating a police officer or a U.S. Marshal in Southwest Missouri has been charged. Branson resident, 41-year old Kristopher Charles Peters, is in the Taney County Jail and is charged with Kidnapping and False Impersonation of a law enforcement officer.

According to Branson Police, officers responded to a report Monday that Peters was representing himself as a U.S. Marshall. The investigation uncovered prior incidents resulting in charges of kidnapping and false impersonation of a law enforcement officer. Peters was arrested and is in the Taney County Jail with a $50,000 bond.

The Branson Police Department is still seeking information regarding Peters and anyone who may have had contact with him.  If you have been stopped by a smaller red vehicle with emergency equipment recently, contact the Branson Police Department at (417) 334-3300 and ask for Detective Joe Edwards.
