Springfield Moves To Hospital-Based COVID-19 Testing

Hospitals and clinics will continue to offer COVID-19 tests as a mobile testing site in Springfield shuts down.  Around 6000 people were tested at the site that was established on March 16 as a joint effort between Mercy, CoxHealth and Jordan Valley Community Health Center, according to a news release from the City of Springfield.

It says Mercy, CoxHealth and Jordan Valley will provide testing for COVID-19 at three different locations for people who have been referred by a primary care provider.  Payment is not a barrier to testing, according to city officials.

Someone who has symptoms but doesn’t have a primary care provider can use virtual care options to seek medical treatment.  Information is available at health.springfieldmo.gov/coronavirus.
