CoxHealth Cancels All Screening Mammograms For 30 Days

All screening mammograms at CoxHealth will be postponed starting today for 30 days.  In a news release, the health system said it’s an effort to practice social distancing while also maintaining time sensitive clinical services.

Non-screening breast exams such as diagnostic mammograms, follow-up appointments and biopsies, will continue as scheduled and ordered.

Patients who have a mammogram scheduled in the coming weeks will be contacted to cancel and reschedule.

The events for free screening mammograms scheduled for today (3/19) at Cox Monett and April 15 at the Breast Care Clinic in Springfield have also been cancelled.

As response to the epidemic evolves, CoxHealth officials said this approach may be adjusted or refined.
