Record Number of Students Enrolled at MSU as Fall Semester Begins

Missouri State University

Missouri State University is expected to set another enrollment record when the official census is conducted next month in large part because of first-time students.  According to an MSU news release, this year’s fall semester opening day enrollment is higher than last year’s.  The MSU Springfield campus opened the fall semester today with 20,334 students—a 2.6 percent increase over last year.  The university attributes the higher numbers to a 13.8 increase in first-time students this fall--the largest increase in full-time students since 1987.

Official census is taken on the 20th day of classes, and official enrollment reports will be available in mid-September.
