The Springfield Police Department has released its crime report for the third quarter this year, and the statistics show a decrease in crime compared to the same time period last year.
Burglaries were down about five percent, and theft was down about three percent.
Also, the more serious crimes of murder, robbery and and aggravated assault in Springfield were down significantly.
The number of manslaughter cases remained unchanged at zero cases.
