Branson Police Issuing Tickets For Seat Belt Violations Thursday

If you're not already buckled up in Branson, you've got yet another reason to fasten your seat belt:  The Branson Police Department says it will increase seatbelt enforcement Thursday, April 11, as part of the statewide "Click it or Ticket" campaign.

Accoridng to the Missouri Department of Transportation, six out of 10 Missourians killed in traffic crashes are not wearing their safety belts.

Branson's Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance that makes it a primary violation when people in a vehicle are not buckled up.  This means that Branson police officers may stop motorists simply becuase they aren't wearing their seatbelts.  This applies to both drivers and others in the vehicle, according to a release from the city.
