The American Red Cross is realigning its territory boundaries. In a news release, the Red Cross states that, with efforts to create efficiencies in back office functions, they expect changes to happen—some being the consolidation of regions and chapters. In Missouri, they’ll realign on an eastern/western line. Changes are expected to be announced by the end of this year.
The Red Cross says the overall impact of the changes will be an increase in the amount of services provided to the people who need them after a disaster. According to the Red Cross, “the changes will allow for a renewed focus on preparedness and response as well as recovery, in a more consistent way across the country."
Debi Meeds, Red Cross Regional CEO in southern Missouri says, “As we face a growing demand for services, we continue to look at our resources and structure to better touch more lives, in new ways, under our same trusted banner.”
