Silver Strands: A Fundraiser Benefiting Abilities First of Springfield
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Friends of Abilities First will host its annual Silver Strands fundraiser on Friday, March 27, at Hickory Hills Country Club in Springfield, honoring Sen. Lincoln Hough for his advocacy, leadership and support of people of all abilities.
The event will bring together elected officials, community members, businesses and supporters for an evening benefiting Friends of Abilities First, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that helps fund opportunities, services and support for people of all abilities in the local community.
Rep. Melanie Stinnett and Rep. Betsy Fogle are also scheduled to speak, highlighting the event’s bipartisan support for the mission of Friends of Abilities First.
“Silver Strands is an opportunity to celebrate community leadership while also investing in the important work of Friends of Abilities First,” said Maggie Rollwagen, president and CEO of Abilities First. “Every dollar raised helps support opportunities and resources that make a meaningful difference for people of all abilities and their families in our community.”
Doors open at 6 p.m. with cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, followed by dinner and programming at 7 p.m. The evening will also include a silent auction ranging from a filled Yeti cooler to international vacation packages.
