Girl Scout Day at The History Museum on the Square
Girl Scout Day at The History Museum on the Square
The History Museum on the Square invites Girl Scouts to join us for a day filled with hands-on fun, discovery, and badge-earning excitement at our third annual Girl Scout Day! On Saturday, April 11, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Girl Scouts of all levels are invited to explore democracy, citizenship, and history through engaging, interactive activities designed just for them! This special event gives registered Girl Scouts, troops, and their leaders the chance to work toward Democracy, Citizenship, and History-themed badges in a welcoming, family-friendly environment. Scouts can earn up to two badges while making memories and celebrating the power of learning together.
Event Details: Admission is $20 per scout and $20 per leader/parent chaperone. This fee grants access to the museum’s galleries, interactive activity stations, and special badge programs led by experienced museum educators. Between badge programs, participants can explore the museum at their own pace and engage with hands-on activity stations throughout the museum. These programs are designed for Girl Scouts of all ages (including Seniors and Ambassadors) who can complete their badges throughout the day. These special badge programs have limited spots, so register early to secure your spot!
Girl Scouts will engage in a variety of interactive, civics-based activities such as mapping local landmarks, registering to vote, speaking with elected officials, and even running for President! This is a unique chance for older Scouts to earn badges alongside peers, while younger Scouts engage with democracy in new and fun ways.
Please Note: This is not a drop-off event. Troop leaders and chaperones must remain with Scouts throughout the event to adhere to Girl Scout ratio requirements.
“This is such a great opportunity for Girl Scouts to really experience how democracy works in a way that’s hands-on, meaningful, and actually fun,” explains Sean FitzGibbons, Executive Director of the History Museum on the Square “I especially love that older Girl Scouts can work on badges alongside their peers, and that multi-level troops can spend the day learning and exploring together.”
