A company that serves major trailer manufacturers across the nation has announced plans to open a new facility in Marshfield.
The $1.5 million investment from Americana Tire and Wheel is expected to create 20 new jobs in Webster County, according to a news release.
Based in Reynoldsburg, OH, Americana Tire and Wheel serves major trailer manufacturers across North America with its trailer tire and wheel assemblies, and manufacturers Load Star and Kenda Karrier Radial tires. Earlier this fall, the company purchased a building in Marshfield previously occupied by Diamond International.
John Foglesong, president of the Marshfield Development League, says the facility became fully operational this month.
The Marshfield facility will join Americana Tire and Wheel’s other locations in Elkhart, IN; York, PA; and Blackshear, GA. The Springfield region’s proximity to their customers and quality workforce drove the company’s decision to locate in Marshfield to meet growing demand, the release states.
Staff at the Marshfield Development League and its partner, the Springfield Regional Economic Partnership, worked with company executives to facilitate the project, including access to state incentives through the Missouri Works program.
