MSU Concert Chorale Plans Spring Trip to South Africa, Holds Fundraiser at Tower Club
Members of the Missouri State University Concert Chorale, the MSU Music Department's flagship touring choral ensemble, will present a dinner and Christmas concert Wednesday December 2nd at 6:00pm in the Tower Club, 901 S. Louis (21st floor of Hammons Tower). It will be fundraiser for the group's major tour next spring.
Chorale member Anna Davis organized this fundraiser, which will include a three-course dinner prepared and served by Tower Club staff. Between courses and after dinner an octet from the Concert Chorale will perform Christmas songs and carols. There will also be a silent auction and raffle for goods and services donated by area businesses.
Anna says the Chorale's trip will take place right after graduation in May 2016, and will take the more than 50-member group to South Africa--with a one-day layover in Europe. Not an inexpensive trip by any means, which is the reason for the fundraiser. It's 0ne of several the Concert Chorale will hold during the school year.
Admission to the dinner/concert on Dec. 2nd is $35 for adults, $10.95 for children age 12 and under. They would appreciate patrons ordering their tickets by Wednesday November 25, the day before Thanksgiving, so the Tower Club can properly prepare for the number of persons who will attend. Anna--who also works at the Tower Club--promises an excellent dinner... well, and excellent performances by the octet too!
