More entertainment options are coming to Springfield’s south side.   Battlefield Lanes, a fixture on E. Battlefield since 1971, is getting a major facelift.  Andy Batholomy is the owner.

"This is start of the process of converting Battlefield Lanes into Andy B's Family Entertainment or Multitainment Center," he said.

Sound of bowling

Walk into Battlefield Lanes now and you’ll see groups of people having fun trying to know down pins or playing games in the arcade.

The renovated facility will feature 21 lanes of traditional bowling with food and beverage service on each lane, ten lanes of luxury bowling, a 2700 square foot underground laser tag arena, a full-scale restaurant and bar and corporate and private meeting rooms and party rooms.  The corporate headquarters for Bartholomy Bowling Centers will be housed there.

Chris Rozier, with the Springfield Chamber of Commerce, says this project is just one of many good things happening in the city.

"We've seen a lot of change in the business community, a lot of expansions, a lot of new businesses coming in, so I think it's great for the economy," he said.

Battlefield Lanes will be one of three bowling centers in the country that have been converted to Andy B’s.

Construction is expected to begin soon and will be finished in November.
