Public meetings are scheduled next week at the Springfield Livestock Center, 6821 W. Independence Drive to discuss replacing bridges over I-44.
A meeting to discuss replacing the route MM/B bridge will be held from 4:30 to 6 on July 9th, and a meeting to discuss replacement of the Route N/T bridge will be from 6:30 to 8.
MODOT says the new bridges are needed because the existing bridges don’t meet modern standards for clearance over I-44 and because their decks are in deteriorating condition and need regular repairs.
If you’re unable to attend the meetings, you can still give your input. An online public meeting is available where anyone can view plans for the projects and e-mail comments or questions to MODOT.
