The Greene County Commission is inviting the public to share any questions, concerns and ideas about the county at a listening session next week. KSMU’s Jennifer Moore reports.
Public discourse is an integral part of any working democracy, regardless of whether it’s on the national, state, or local level. The new Greene County Presiding Commissioner, Jim Viebrock, says next week’s listening session is designed to give residents an opportunity to address the commission on any topic related to the community.
Commissioners will mostly be listening and taking notes, and will follow up after the meeting on questions they cannot answer immediately, Viebrock said.
The listening session is next Tuesday, January 11, at seven o’clock in the evening. It will take place in room 212 of the Historic Courthouse, located at 940 Boonville in Springfield.
