The nursing program at Ozarks Technical Community College is seeking accreditation of its undergraduate program from a national commission on nursing. KSMU's Jennifer Moore reports.
OTC is hosting an accreditation site visit this week by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission.
Currently, OTC’s nursing program is approved by state boards only. The college offers an Associate’s degree in nursing, and the program allows students to become a Licensed Practical Nurse or a Registered Nurse.
In a time when most industries are seeing high unemployment rates, opportunities for nurses abound; those within the health care field say there’s currently a shortage of trained health care professionals.
For KSMU News, I'm Jennifer Moore.
