Representative Bob Dixon filed legislation this week to have one additional circuit court judge added to Greene County Courts. KSMU's Greg Leuthen reports.
Springfield currently has five circuit court judges, and Representative Bob Dixon says that all of them are overwhelmed with increasingly heavy caseloads. Dixon cites limited resources and a growing population as his primary reasons for filing legislation that would grant Greene County an additional circuit court judge. Along with alleviating the workload of the other 5 judges, the additional judge would give the citizens of Greene County justice more quickly.
According to a study, Greene County is one of the top Missouri Counties in the ratio of population to judges.
