Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASA will hold an informational meeting Monday, March 19th to discuss how to become a volunteer.

KSMU's Christy Hendricks reports.

If you're interested in learning more about Court Appointed Special Advocates or CASA, the organization will hold an informational meeting this evening from 5:30 to 6:30.

CASA volunteers serve as child advocates for foster children who have been victims of abuse or neglect.

Dan Prater is the communications director for CASA of Southwest Missouri.

He says training sessions are held nearly year-round to train new volunteers.

Prater says CASA is always looking for volunteer advocates because the need in Greene County is great.

Dan Prater says tonight's meeting is for anyone interested in learning more about CASA and wanting to make a difference where they live.

Tonight's CASA informational meeting will be from 5:30 to 6:30 at the Burrell Behavioral Health's Children's Center on Bradford Parkway.
