Prseident Bush and some top congressional Republicans are at loggerheads over the proposed sale of operations at six major ports. KSMU's Mike Smith has the story:

President Bush says he will veto any effort to block the sale of six major ports to a state-owned company from the United Arab Emirates. He says the deal doesn't jeopardize security, since port security would still be handled by the Coast Guard and U.S. Customs Service.
Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, and House Speaker Dennis Hastert want to put the deal on hold, but the 3rd ranking house member Majority Whip Roy Blunt says the Prresident should use all available time to investigate the deal and only when he can make assurancess to the American people that port security would not be jeopardized, then it should proceed.
