Mercy Postpones Non-Urgent Imaging Services

Mercy is postponing all non-urgent imaging services in anticipation of a possible influx of COVID-19 patients, according to hospital officials.

Starting today these services will be postponed:

  • Screening Mammography
  • CT Lung Cancer Screening
  • Non-urgent CT
  • Non-urgent MRI
  • Ultrasound
  • Plain film X-ray Exams
  • All other non-emergent or elective Radiologic and Imaging Guidance Exams or Procedures

Officials say the decision was not taken lightly.  But, according to Mercy, it was necessary to safeguard patients and co-workers from exposure while also helping hospitals preserve personal protective equipment.
Mercy will begin contacting patients as their cases become eligible for postponement.
