Missouri Governor Orders External Review of COVID-19 Operations At The State's Veterans Homes

Missouri Veterans Home-Mt. Vernon

An external review of COVID-19 operations at Missouri’s Veterans Homes will take place soon. Governor Mike Parson ordered the reviews late last week.

During a briefing with the governor on Thursday, data was presented that raised concerns about how well the veterans homes are “uniformly and systematically operating to prevent and, if necessary, contain COVID-19 outbreaks among their staff and residents,” according to the governor’s office.

Parson has asked Missouri Veterans Commission chairman, Timothy Noonan, to conduct a rapid, independent, external review of the state’s veterans homes, according to a news release.

The review will assess the homes’ performance to date and identity any steps that should be taken to improve their management of COVID-19.

Parson also asked that rapid antigen tests be sent to Missouri Veterans Homes.
