Public Input Needed As SGF Planning Workshops Continue

You’ll have a chance to give your input in the Forward SGF comprehensive planning process this week.

The City of Springfield is hosting visioning workshops Tuesday night, January 28, from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Oasis Convention Center and Wednesday, January 29, from 2 to 4 at the University Plaza Hotel and from 6:30 to 8:30 at Relics Event Center.

During the workshops, city leaders will ask residents to move beyond identifying issues and start thinking about the change the community wants to see, according to a news release.  City officials call this a “critical phase in the planning process.”

The workshops will feature real-time polling as well as a small-group, hands-on mapping exercise, in which guests will illustrate their vision for the next 20 years, according to the city.

Forward SGF kicked off in August 2019 and continues through the fall.
