You'll have a chance to tell Springfield city officials what you think about proposed improvements to area intersections. KSMU's Adam Murphy reports.
The City of Springfield will give residents an opportunity to voice their opinions on possible street improvements in Central Springfield. The city is hosting an Open House Thursday night from 4 to 6:30pm. Earl Newman is the Assistant Director of Public Works for the City of Springfield.
Earl Newman says, "The purpose is really to show to the public some of the thoughts that came out of a recent study that was jointly funded by MSU and the city to look at traffic needs in the campus area as well as on the adjacent streets."The planned improvements include new traffic signals, removing the midblock on National, adding an overpass or an underpass on the intersection of National and Madison, and widening Grand street.
The Open House will take place at Fire Station No. 1, located at 720 E. Grand St on Thursday. Again, the event begins at 4:00.
