Flu Cases Continue Dropping in Greene County

Cases of influenza continue declining in Greene County, and that has prompted healthcare facilities in the area to lift visitor restrictions.

Visitor restrictions for children 14 and under had been implemented in December to protect against the spread of the flu during one of the most severe seasons in recent history, according to the Springfield-Greene County Health Department.

A total of 4,499 lab-confirmed cases of flu has been reported to the health department.

Health officials say, while the flu season has not yet been declared over, several weeks of declining case numbers, both locally and nationally, have pointed to an impending end to the season.
