Students across the Ozarks who missed the beginning of the semester have another chance to continue their education.
Ozarks Technical Community College has opened registration for its Late Start program, which includes over 20 courses, ranging from the sciences to math and English. The courses will start on Tuesday, September 3rd and will last 14 weeks. Joel Doepker, director of communications and marketing for OTC, is proud of the program.
“As a college, I think it is incumbent upon us to try and offer classes at as many times as possible, knowing that people have busy lives, but they still need their education,” Deopker said.
Late start courses have been offered for a couple years, bringing in new and current students who either missed due dates or decided to take on another class. The courses are two weeks shorter than the normal semester, but Deopker says it’s essentially the same curriculum.
“We certainly assess the schedule. If we think that there is one class that is already seeing some high demand, that is already filled, we add a class,” Deopker said.
Students are able to take these courses through the Springfield campus and online. For more information on OTC’s Late Start program, call 447-6900 or visit www.otc.edu.
