Western-Greene County Veterans Day Parade
Willard will be host the 7th annual Western-Greene County Veterans Day Parade on Saturday, November 4. The parade will follow Jackson Street through downtown Willard, beginning at Willard High School and ending at Jackson Street Park.
The parade will begin at 11:00am, progressing west down Jackson Street. The theme is “Service Beyond the Homefront” – Remembering the 20th Anniversary of the Invasion of Iraq.
At the parade’s end at Jackson Street Park, there will be a flag retirement ceremony at 1:00pm, followed by the Veterans Day Celebration/Stand Down where guests can learn about veteran organizations, the significance of veteran-related ceremony and customs, and enjoy onsite food and music. There will also be vendors for various veteran-support organizations and programs.
Donna Stewart, Interim City Administrator for the City of Willard stated, “The city of Willard is once again pleased to host this event to recognize area veterans. We appreciate the ongoing efforts of city staff to make this event an annual success. Everyone is encouraged to attend the festivities.”
Jackson Street in Willard, MO will be blocked to traffic during the parade 12:45pm – approximately 2:00pm. Alternate routes are encouraged for travel crossing Jackson Street in Willard city limits during this time.
