The Victim Center's 50th Anniversary Ribbon-Cutting Event

The Victim Center's 50th Anniversary Ribbon-Cutting Event

The Victim Center marks its 50th anniversary with a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at its office located at 815 W. Tampa, on March 31, 2026, at 4:00 pm. This event celebrates decades of free, confidential support for victims of violent and sexual crime in southwest Missouri.

The event will feature a mayoral proclamation, brief remarks from agency leadership and community partners, and a chance for guests to connect with staff, learn about programs, and enjoy refreshments. “The Victim Center has a rich history of helping thousands of victims find hope and healing through our free-of-charge services. We are excited to celebrate this milestone with the community that has supported our mission and clients for 50 years,” stated Tara Benson, Executive Director.

Founded in 1976 as a grassroots rape crisis organization, The Victim Center has grown into a comprehensive victim services agency providing a 24-hour crisis response hotline, counseling, advocacy, and prevention education. The organization supports both primary and secondary victims, including family members affected by violent and sexual crime.

The ribbon-cutting event is open to the public. Visit www.thevictimcenter.org/50th to RSVP or find for more information.
