  • The Greene County Historic Courthouse is hosting area musical groups for holiday music in the rotunda.  The Central Chamber Choir will perform this morning (12/14) at 9:30.
  • Sounds of Christmas, featuring Poland’s Form Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra will be held this morning (12/14) at 11:30 at Elfindale Chapel, 1701 S. Fort.  For more information, 883-5274.
  • Dickensian Christmas Tablescapes with Peter Longley will be held tonight (12/14) at 6 at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center.  Learn to dress your table for all occasions.  Admission is $8.  Pre-registration is required by calling 891-1515.
  • A dance is held each Friday night at 7 at the West Plains Senior Center.  Admission is $4, and all ages are welcome.
  • Acoustic Jam on the Square is held Friday nights at the West Plains Music Store on the square in West Plains.  Take instruments and lawn chairs.
  • The Blackberry Winter Band will play their new music at the Yellow House tonight (12/14) at 7.  The event will include a finger food potluck.  Admission is $5.
  • Missouri State University’s Fall Commencement is today (12/14) at 12:30 and 4 at JQH Arena.
  • The Library Station invites kids in grades 4-8 to “’Tween Town” today (12/14) at 4.  Make a bowl out of glue, twine and a balloon, enjoy snacks and play games.  For details, 865-1340.

  • A Holiday Train/Garden Display is at the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center through December 31st.  Hours today and tomorrow (12/14-12/15) are 8 to 8 and Sunday (12/16) from 11 to 6.  Admission is free, but donations are accepted.  This Sunday at the Botanical Center is “Santa and Friends.”  Visit with Santa and enjoy kids’ activities from noon to 4.  Some activities require a fee.
  • A free drive-through light display is at Rutledge-Wilson Community Farm Park Saturdays through Dec. 22 from dusk to 7 pm.
  • The Downtown Springfield Holiday Loft Walk is tomorrow (12/15) from 4 to 9 pm.  Tickets are $12 in advance or $15 tomorrow.  Proceeds will benefit the Child Advocacy Center of Springfield.  For details, itsalldowntown.com.

  • The History Museum for Springfield-Greene County, 155 Park Central Square, is hosting the exhibit “Sun, Sports and Summer Fun:  A Celebration of the 100thAnniversary of Springfield-Greene County Park Board” through March 15th.  Hours today and tomorrow (12/14 & 12/15) are 10:30 to 4:30.  Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children.
  • Christmas in Lights, a drive-through light display, is at the Ozark Empire Fairgrounds through December 30thfrom 5:30 to 9:30 each evening.  Admission is $12 per carload.
