Community engagement is one of the core values of Missouri State University’s mission in public affairs. Many faculty and staff members are involved in community organizations and programs that allow them to combine their professional expertise with leisure activities.
Dr. Chris Barnhart is a professor of biology. He is also one of the volunteers who helps run Springfield’s Butterfly House.
Barnhart discusses several upcoming events that relate to his love of insects.
The Butterfly Festival is July 21 from 9 a.m.—6 p.m. at Close Memorial Park. Insect O’rama is Aug. 17 from 6:30-9:30 p.m. at the Nature Center.
