• The Grand Opening for the Springfield-Greene County Botanical Center continues thru Sunday at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park. For a complete list of events, visit www.parkboard.org.
• The Rutledge-Wilson Community Farm Park is offering hay rides, a pumpkin patch and a corn maze each weekend in October. Hours are Friday 5 to 10 pm and Saturday and Sunday noon to 10 pm. For more information, www.parkboard.org.
• Help make a paper river at Nathanael Greene/Close Memorial Park from 9 am to 6 pm tomorrow. The community-based collaborative environmental art installation will produce a winter wheat river. Help out anytime during the day. The ceremonial official “first pour” will be at 9.
• The Missouri State Volleyball team will face Evansville tonight (10/15) at 7 and Southern Illinois tomorrow night (10/16) at 7 at Hammons Student Center. For tickets, 836-7678.
• The Missouri State-West Plains Grizzly volleyball team will take on Pratt Community College today and tomorrow (10/15 & 10/16) at 6 pm at the West Plains Civic Center.
