Cancelled flights Monday night and this morning at Springfield Branson National Airport have left travelers frustrated. KSMU’s Missy Shelton has some tips that might save you some time if you’re planning to fly this evening or tomorrow.
To save yourself some trouble, airport spokesperson Kent Boyd recommends checking your flight’s status before you leave home. There are several ways to do that.
And even if you do check your flight’s status, Boyd reminds travelers that a flight’s status can change very quickly. He says that sometimes, flights get cancelled not because of icy runways but because airlines incur a lot of expenses when operating in winter weather.
Ice on the runway did cause some problems Monday afternoon when two airplanes that were taxiing slid into the grass. Boyd says there were no injuries and both planes were towed back to the terminal.
