MODOT Seeks Input on Changes to Interchange

The Missouri Department of Transportation invited motorists to give their ideas on proposed changes to the US 60/65 interchange. Mike Smith has the story:

Area residents, business people, and commuters came to an open house style meeting September 14th to talk one on one with MODOT engineers about plans to rebuild the U.S. 60/65 interchange in southeast Springfield. MODOT spokesman Bob Edwards says 80-100,000 vehicles use the interchange each day and s major goal of the meeting was to ask those attending to rank problems to be addressed, and to determine if closing ramps and lanes can be tolerated when construction begins in 2009.

Edwards says funding for the project became available through amendment 3, passed by voters last year.
