Astro Brief: Cosmology

ESA/Euclid/Euclid Consortium/NASA, CEA Paris-Saclay, image processing by J.-C. Cuillandre, E. Bertin, G. Anse

How do we understand the state of the universe?

We observe the universe with a large variety of telescopes in collaborative efforts all around the globe, but much of what we understand is what we see. Invisible forces like dark matter or dark energy can only be detected through their influence of the visible environment surrounding them and so studying them is a slow process. Over time, technology and processes for collecting data continue to improve, giving us better insight into our universe's past, present, and future.

Join us this week as Mike explores how our universe is currently being studied and understood.
