It almost didn't get on the November ballot, but Ammendment three will give Missourians their chance to ban a tax that does not even exist. Sherman Fabes has more from Jefferson City.
St. Louis County Republican Representative Mike Leara says Missourians need to vote yes on Ammendment three.
"I believe there has been discussion of this and it is just premepting any future attempts to tax transfer of title," he said.
Leara says the extra tax is unessecary.
Co-owner of REMAX Jefferson City, Sharon Keating, says the tax would hurt everyone.
"It would be a devastating blow to an already weak real estate economy," she said.
If a tax was in place, it would get collected every time the property changed hands.
The ban has met very little public opposition.
