The Missouri Senate gave first round approval to a bill that reduces the ability of injured workers to get compensation. KSMU's Missy Shelton reports.

Senators on both sides of the issue have acknowledged that, due to a series of court rulings, the current worker's compensation system is too costly.

Republican Senator John Loudon is sponsoring the bill that limits access to worker's compensation.

But some democratic senators say the changes in the bill would create too many obstacles for injured workers who are seeking compensation.
