JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — The Missouri Attorney General's office has settled a lawsuit alleging the city of Marshfield illegally enforced a ticket quota system to raise revenue. The settlement announced Thursday requires Marshfield to develop strategies to comply with traffic ticket quota laws. Attorney General Eric Schmitt sued Marshfield in December, alleging its police chief pushed officers to write more tickets beginning in 2018. The settlement requires the city to begin a training program, which city leaders and the police chief must attend by Oct. 1. The attorney general's office will review Marshfield's policies in a year.
