Commercial Street To Be Closed At Division For Several Weeks

Starting Thursday, October 3, Commercial Street will be closed at Division for around two months.

The intersection will be modified into a more traditional configuration, according to the City of Springfield.  The lanes on Division Street will be straightened to a traditional three-lane section of roadway, and Commercial St. will be reconstructed to intersect at a 90-degree angle.  The intersection will also get a new stop sign.  Sidewalks will be relocated to run parallel to the new roadway alignment and will include ADA accessibility upgrades.

The project is estimated to cost $213,000 and is funded through the 1/8-cent Transportation Sales Tax.
