Victims of Truck-Pedestrian Crash Saturday in Branson Identified

The victims of a truck-pedestrian crash over the weekend in downtown Branson have been identified.  Gregory and Laura Curnes and Jean Moncrief entered a marked crosswalk Saturday night to walk across Branson Landing Blvd. and were struck by a southbound 1999 Ford truck driven by Steven Weter of Hollister.

The pedestrians were taken by ambulance to a Springfield hospital for treatment.  Laura Curnes later died from her injuries.  Weter remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation by the Branson Police Department. Anyone who witnessed the accident is asked to call 417-334-3300.
