After a delay due to weather, all four lanes of the new railroad bridge, two in each direction, on Chestnut Expressway west of Highway 65 will open to traffic Friday, April 6.
The work, which started in June 2016, includes the bridge to move traffic over railroad tracks, new roads on each side of Chestnut Expressway to allow access to businesses and a new traffic signal at Ingram Mill and Chestnut Expressway.
The $14.8 million project is a partnership of the city of Springfield, Greene County, Burlington Northern-Santa Fe Railroad and the Missouri Department of Transportation.
